  • MEET PHILIP</h3 >

Philip started attending ABF’s relaxation sessions as part of an outreach project in South Wrexham after his wife spotted a poster in their local shop. Prior to this he had been housebound for six months due to his severe anxiety. After the relaxation sessions ended he was referred by his psychiatrist for lifestyle coaching with ABF.

Philip would describe his anxiety as if he were inside a bubble whilst everyone else was living in a different world to him and he couldn’t get back there.

  • MEET MARTHA</h3 >

Martha was referred to ABF by the Community Mental Health Team after feeling low for a long time and despite efforts to manage alone she needed extra support.

Coping with anxiety and depression, amongst other conditions such as fibromyolgia and M.E. Martha had been experiencing a difficult time. Martha found it a challenge to overcome her nerves and get involved at first and found planning difficult as she tends to “go overboard”.

  • LOOKING FORWARDS AND OPENING DOORS</h4 >

ABF supported her to be more specific and realistic in her plans, looking forwards as well as opening the door for further support.

Martha feels she has learnt a great deal towards managing her own health and wellbeing as well as making friends and having lots of laughs along the way.
